That style is a blend of consciousness, streets, religion, and the type of abrasiveness that can only come from a city that’s known for being cold, and corrupt politically.
A New Beginning focuses on just that the beginnings of beats and rhymes to combat streets in crimes in the windy city. Once again putting it on the map for music the 90’s saw increased welfare reform and the beginning of accelerated mass incarceration with the crime bill of 1994 and The Welfare Reform Bill of 1996.
